Thessaloniki Flyover work shuts Eastern Inner Ring Road overnight

The Thessaloniki traffic police announced that the Eastern Inner Ring Road (Ανατολική Εσωτερική Περιφερειακή) will be fully closed in both directions from 23:00 on Saturday, 1 August, until 05:00 on Sunday, 2 August, to allow construction of the new Flyover at the K11 (Pylaias‑Panorama) interchange.

Detour routes are prescribed: west‑bound traffic will be redirected via Prasakaki, John Kennedy and Elaiwn streets, while east‑bound traffic will use the Foka road. Trucks weighing more than 3.5 tonnes are prohibited on the segment between the K‑16 (Lachanagora) and K‑13 (Agios Pavlos) interchanges from 22:00 to 05:00. Police urged drivers to avoid unnecessary trips, follow the work‑site signage and drive with extra caution.

The same closure details were reported by several local outlets, confirming the schedule and the detour plan.
