Mountain Games Cyprus 2026 to host health and sports event in Troodos

The Mountain Games Cyprus 2026 will take place from September 23 to 26 in the Troodos mountain range. Co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Sport programme and coordinated by the MountMed Institute, the non-profit event operates under the theme ‘Healthy Lifestyles for All’.

The event features a multi-themed programme including an International Scientific Symposium in Platres. This symposium brings together scientists, clinicians, and public health officials from 11 countries—including Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Germany, and others—to discuss the role of physical activity in preventing non-communicable diseases and promoting active ageing.

Additional activities include the ‘Elevate Your Life’ programme for students in Agros and Omodos, mountain biking festivals, hiking, and orienteering. The event also incorporates cultural elements such as traditional dance, music, and gastronomy workshops, alongside inclusive activities adapted for individuals with visual impairments.
