Mountain lion temporarily blocks San Dimas street in California

A female mountain lion was spotted lounging on a sidewalk in the San Dimas neighborhood of Los Angeles County, California, prompting officials to close Foothill Avenue between San Dimas Avenue and San Dimas Canyon Road. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department urged residents to stay away, keep pets indoors and remove outdoor food sources.

California Department of Fish and Wildlife officers arrived, tranquilized the animal with darts, and after a brief assessment captured it using a transport tarp. The lion was reported as injured, chewed one dart before spitting it out, and was later safely relocated out of the residential area. No injuries to people were reported.
