Mountain Rescue Service Bijeljina receives first rescue boat

The Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) Bijeljina has acquired its first rescue boat, funded by the Government of Republika Srpska. The acquisition follows a request made to Prime Minister Savo Minić.

The new vessel and its accompanying equipment are intended for search and rescue operations, flood interventions, and emergency responses on rivers and lakes. Previously, the service had to rely on the assistance of private citizens and other organizations when performing water-based interventions in the area between the Sava and Drina rivers.

Members of GSS Bijeljina stated that the boat provides a new operational capacity that will allow for faster and safer responses during life-threatening situations. The service plans to implement additional training and equipment for rescuers to ensure high levels of readiness.
