Mountain running events see high participation in Gran Sasso and Dolomites

Mountain running events are seeing significant engagement in Italy. In Pietracamela, the Gran Sasso trail running event held on August 30 saw participation double compared to its inaugural 2025 edition, attracting 500 athletes. The event reached capacity ten days in advance, highlighting growing interest in sports tourism within the Teramo province.

In the Dolomites, the Tre Cime Experience is scheduled for September 12 and 13, 2026, in Misurina. Organized by Cadini Promotion in collaboration with Lowa, the event features several competitions including the Diavolo Vertical Sprint, Misurina Sky Marathon, Misurina Lake Run, and Cadini Kids Race. While the Cadini Sky Race is already sold out, registration remains open for the other scheduled races.
