Mountain West sports updates: New Mexico football and Hawai'i swimming honors

In college football, the New Mexico Lobos secured a marquee victory against North Dakota State in front of a sold-out crowd in Albuquerque. The win, driven by a strong defensive performance, has placed the Lobos in consideration for the Group of Six representative in the College Football Playoff.

Boise State also achieved success, defeating Washington State 31–10 to secure their 29th consecutive season of bowl eligibility. The Broncos improved to 6–1 on the season, showing defensive improvement despite a shaky start to the game.

In collegiate swimming and diving, five University of Hawai'i at Manoa athletes received Mountain West weekly honors following dual meets against Grand Canyon. Victor Dagenais was named Men's Swimmer of the Week, while Juan Esteban Ramirez Tamayo and Lovisa Gustavsson were recognized as the Men's and Women's Divers of the Week. Rookies Kristians Brenčs and Annie Nicholson-Jodoin were named Freshmen of the Week.
