To mark the jubilee, a special ‘BEST OF Mountainfilm Graz’ program will run on November 10 and 11 at the Filmzentrum im Rechbauerkino, showcasing award-winning films from the past four decades. Additionally, an ORF documentary titled ‘Das gibt mir Berge! 40 Jahre Mountainfilm Graz’ is set to air on October 4, 2026, profiling the festival's history and founder Robert Schauer.

The festival typically receives around 300 submissions annually, with approximately 90 films selected for screening. The full program for the 2026 edition is expected to be released during a press conference on October 21, 2026.
