Mourinho and Flick react to refereeing controversy ahead of El Clásico

Ahead of the upcoming El Clásico at Camp Nou, Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho and Barcelona manager Hansi Flick provided contrasting reactions during press conferences regarding the appointment of referee Martínez Munuera.

Following reports that the referee's name was leaked before official club notification, Mourinho expressed dissatisfaction through non-verbal cues, including raising his eyebrows and shoulders. Behavioral analyst Esteban Pascual noted that Mourinho appeared to be withholding his full opinions on the officiating to address them after the match.

Hansi Flick adopted a more restrained approach, stating, “I don’t want any headlines,” as he sought to avoid controversial statements. While Mourinho focused on the information leak, Flick emphasized caution to prevent his words from being misinterpreted by the media.
