Mouser Electronics explores quantum computing in new tech series

Mouser Electronics has launched a new installment of its ‘Empowering Innovation Together’ (EIT) technology series titled ‘A Quantum Leap in Computer Processing’. The series focuses on the emerging field of quantum computing, examining how quantum-mechanical phenomena such as superposition, entanglement, and interference can solve complex problems that current computing architectures cannot.

While the technology currently faces hurdles regarding scalability and error rates, the series highlights how advancements in qubit development and quantum error correction are moving these systems toward practical use. Potential applications discussed include optimization, materials discovery, artificial intelligence, cryptography, and drug development.

As part of the initiative, the ‘The Tech Between Us’ podcast features Raymond Yin, Mouser’s Director of Technical Content, in conversation with physicist Daniel Gottesman from the University of Maryland. The discussion explores foundational quantum concepts and the transition of quantum systems from research environments to real-world engineering applications.
