Moussa Konté indicted in Washington D.C. drug trafficking case

Moussa Konté, a 32-year-old Senegalese national residing in Washington D.C., has been federally indicted on charges of possession of narcotics with intent to distribute. Authorities allege that Konté, who was in the United States without legal status, used his one-bedroom apartment as a storage hub for illegal substances.

Following a police raid on August 25, 2026, investigators recovered approximately 739 grams of blue pills suspected to be fentanyl, nearly 935 grams of cocaine, and roughly 1.3 kilograms of marijuana. Additionally, law enforcement seized approximately $8,000 in cash, a money-counting machine, a vacuum sealer, a scale, and ammunition.

Federal prosecutors stated that the defendant had previously participated in a FaceTime call where he allegedly displayed several kilograms of prohibited substances. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia characterized the apartment as a drug warehouse that posed a direct threat to public safety. Konté has been placed in provisional detention.
