Moussa Sissoko faces difficult situation at Panathinaikos
Former Premier League midfielder Moussa Sissoko is facing a difficult period at Panathinaikos, according to reports from The Sun. The 37-year-old French player, who joined the Greek club in February 2026 following a stint at Watford, has struggled to find playing time due to a significant thigh injury.
Sissoko is reportedly not in the plans of Panathinaikos coach Jacob Neestrup and was excluded from the team's Conference League squad. He is currently not training with the main squad. Despite discussions regarding a potential contract termination with compensation, no agreement was reached during the summer transfer window.
While interest from Panionios was noted, a move did not materialize. Sissoko remains under contract until the summer of 2027, facing the possibility of completing the season without further official appearances.
