Moustiers-Sainte-Marie attracts visitors to Provence

Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, a village located in Haute-Provence, attracts over 600,000 visitors annually. Nestled within limestone cliffs, the village is notable for a golden star suspended by a 227-meter chain between two rock faces.

Historically, the village has been a center for faïence production since the 17th century. Following the establishment of manufactures by Pierre Clérissy in 1679, approximately a dozen workshops continue to practice this traditional ceramic art today.
