Movement for Rights and Freedoms delegation meets ECR leadership in Brussels

A delegation from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) met with Patrick Yakubi, co-chair of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group in the European Parliament, to discuss several key policy areas.

The discussions focused on the EU Multiannual Financial Framework, with both parties advocating for a framework that includes specific resources, tools, and clear rules to support local authorities.

The DPS delegation also briefed political partners on allegations of abuse of power, political interference in law enforcement, and human rights violations involving Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev and his political office. DPS representatives plan to present documented cases to ECR members and the LIBE Committee.

Additionally, the parties discussed cooperation regarding allied security, resilience, and countering Russian hybrid and kinetic attacks on NATO’s Eastern Flank and in the Black Sea region.
