Movimento 5 Stelle unveils 20-point program for political alliance

The Movimento 5 Stelle (M5S) has unveiled its new programmatic document, titled 'Alliance for the Constitution,' following the Nova participatory process. The 20-point program emphasizes a shift in foreign policy, specifically calling for a negotiated peace in Ukraine and an end to military aid, asserting that 'sending weapons to Ukraine distances the possibility of peace.' The party also opposes increasing NATO defense spending and the 'Rearm EU' plan, advocating instead for a unified European defense policy.

Domestically, the M5S is proposing a 'generational pact' to support youth. Key measures include lowering the voting age to 16 and introducing an additional tax deduction for workers under 35 during their first five years of employment. The program also proposes replacing existing welfare systems with a 'Dignity Income' (Reddito di Dignità).

During an event in Milan, leader Giuseppe Conte stated that if elected, a M5S-led government would prioritize the repeal of restrictive justice and security laws. Conte also criticized the current administration regarding rising fuel costs and the cost of living, suggesting that resources should be redirected from the banking and energy sectors to support citizens.
