Movimiento Antorchista holds IV National Declamation Conference across Mexico

The Movimiento Antorchista held its IV National Declamation Conference, a cultural event spanning all 32 states of Mexico. The initiative brought together approximately 3,000 declaimers and reached an estimated audience of 25,000 people across the country.

Participants recited works from various Latin American and Caribbean poets, including José Martí, Roque Dalton, Nicolás Guillén, and Otto René Castillo. The event aimed to use poetry as a tool for social awareness and reflection on themes such as justice, freedom, and the struggle against oppression.

In Zacatecas, the local chapter hosted a session at the Casa Municipal de Cultura with nearly 30 participants from municipalities including Guadalupe, Trancoso, Fresnillo, Jalpa, and Villanueva. Osvaldo Ávila Tizcareño, the state leader for Antorcha, recognized the participants for their dedication to the art form and its role in cultural development.
