Movimiento Ciudadano accuses Morena of violating electoral law

Pedro Armentía López, the parliamentary coordinator for Movimiento Ciudadano in the State Congress, has accused the Morena party of violating electoral laws. The criticism follows the formal presentation of Pablo Gutiérrez Lazarus as the state coordinator of the Defensa de la Transformación during a government event.

Armentía López characterized the move as a simulation and an affront to the law, alleging that Morena bypassed internal processes and the voice of its members by using a predetermined outcome disguised as a survey. He suggested the decision was an attempt to change the party's national narrative amidst various challenges. The legislator further noted that the official presentation occurred during a working day at the Campeche XXI Convention Center with the presence of the state cabinet and the governor, labeling it an early campaign tactic for the 2027 process.
