Movimiento Ciudadano files campaign complaint in Iztapalapa

Movimiento Ciudadano has filed a formal complaint with the Technical Unit of Electoral Litigation of the Mexico City Electoral Institute (IECM) regarding alleged premature campaign activities in Iztapalapa.

The party alleges that since July, posters and banners featuring the name and image of Irma Francis Pirin Cigarrero, coordinator of the Left Front of Mexico City, have been displayed in various locations, including Ermita Iztapalapa and Anillo Periférico. The complaint states that the propaganda includes proposals for local administration, such as drainage, paving, and lighting improvements.

This legal action occurs during the 2026-2027 Local Ordinary Electoral Process, which involves the election of 286 positions across Mexico City, including 16 mayoralties.
