Movimiento Ciudadano targets 10 state capitals in 2027 elections

Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) has launched a strategic reorganization in Quintana Roo ahead of the 2027 elections. During the presentation of the party's Provisional Operating Commission in Chetumal, national coordinator Jorge Álvarez Máynez announced the party's ambition to win at least 10 state capitals in 2027, specifically targeting Chetumal and the Othón P. Blanco municipality.

As part of this restructuring, Joaquín González Castro has been named the state coordinator, and Lidia Rojas Fabro has assumed the role of Secretary of Organization. Máynez emphasized that the party is shifting focus from internal organization to territorial presence, aiming to build structures through district definitions, polling station representation, and voter promotion. The party seeks to position itself as a competitive force capable of contesting the presidency in 2030.

In Playa del Carmen, local political dynamics also show shifts, with reports highlighting Farid Rentería's ability to mobilize significant crowds during recent assemblies, contrasting his territorial structure with other local figures.
