Movimiento Ciudadano targets 2027 Querétaro elections

Jorge Álvarez Máynez, national coordinator of Movimiento Ciudadano (MC), stated that the party aims to compete for the governorship of Querétaro and the state capital in the 2027 elections. He described the potential political landscape as a “three-way election” (elección de tercios), positioning MC as a viable alternative to both the PAN and Morena.

Máynez noted that the electorate in Querétaro faces three paths: political continuity, a shift toward Morena, or choosing Movimiento Ciudadano as a positive alternative for the future. He cited previous electoral performance as evidence of growth, noting that in polling stations where the party had representatives during the last election, they reached approximately 20 percent of the vote.

Additionally, Máynez expressed support for Laura Ballesteros, the state coordinator for MC, describing her as a strong profile for the region and highlighting her political trajectory.
