Movistar named Venezuela’s best mobile network by Ookla

Movistar has received the Speedtest Award for the best mobile network in Venezuela for the first half of 2026. The recognition, presented by Ookla in Caracas, is based on an analysis of over 28 million tests and measurements conducted between January and June 2026.

Movistar achieved a score of 58.88 on the Speedtest Connectivity Score, the highest in the market. This methodology evaluates speed, latency, and real user experiences, including high-demand browsing and video playback quality.

Antonio Valente, President and CEO of Movistar Venezuela, stated that the achievement results from years of sustained investment in telecommunications infrastructure. Since 2024, the company has implemented more than 4,600 infrastructure actions and modernized over 1,900 network stations. Movistar currently operates the country’s most extensive 5G network and aims to have 260 operational stations across more than 70 cities by the end of 2026.
