Movistar Peru boosts profitability in first half of 2026

Movistar Peru reported a strong operational performance for the first six months of 2026, driven by renegotiated contracts, simplified processes and expense optimization. EBITDA rose 37% year‑on‑year and the EBITDA margin increased by 5.8 percentage points. Operating profit grew by S/42 million, a 9.3% improvement over the same period last year, while cost savings of S/239 million were achieved.

The company said the savings are being reinvested to enhance its value proposition, improve service quality and fund network upgrades. It now supports about 60 % of its customers' data traffic on the modernised mobile network and topped the 5G performance ranking of Osiptel’s “Checa tu Internet Móvil” tool between April and June. Average revenue per user also rose, with a 7 % increase in fiber, 4 % in pay‑TV and 9 % in prepaid services.
