Movistar Plus and Skydance expand partnership to co-produce original series
Movistar Plus and Skydance have expanded their strategic partnership through a new two-year agreement. This deal consolidates content distribution in the Spanish market and introduces a significant new component: the co-production of original series under a joint Movistar Plus and HBO Original label.
Under the terms of the agreement, Movistar Plus users will maintain access to HBO Max within their interface. The partnership also covers the distribution of Skydance TV channels and Warner Bros. theatrical features. The newly established co-production branch aims to create Spanish-language stories with international appeal, which will premiere simultaneously on Movistar Plus and HBO Max in Spain, while being available globally via HBO Max.
The first two joint projects have already been announced. The first is ‘Veredicto’, a three-part miniseries created by Carles Porta and produced by Ikiru Films and Luminol Media. The second is a fiction project currently without a definitive title, being developed by Carles Porta and the creative team Los Moriarti.
