Movistar Plus+ announces ‘Matar a un oso’ series

Movistar Plus+ has released the trailer for ‘Matar a un oso’, a new six-episode crime thriller series inspired by the real-life investigation into the death of Cachou, a bear in the Valle de Arán. The case, which occurred during the pandemic lockdown, led to an unprecedented judicial investigation in Spain where the animal's death was treated as a murder.

Created by Jorge and Alberto Sánchez-Cabezudo, the series explores the tensions between tradition and modernity, as well as the relationship between humanity and nature. The production features a cast including Eduard Fernández, María Rodríguez Soto, Miki Esparbé, Pol López, Nora Navas, and Àlex Monner.

The series will have its world premiere at the 71st Valladolid International Film Festival (Seminci) on October 23, with the first three episodes being screened. It will also compete in the National Official Section of the Festival Serielizados. The exclusive release on the Movistar Plus+ platform is scheduled for December 10.
