Movistar Plus+ Announces Surprise Renewal of Berto Romero’s Series “El otro lado”

Movistar Plus+ confirmed a surprise renewal of the comedy‑horror series “El otro lado”, starring comedian Berto Romero. The second season, titled “El otro mundo”, will consist of six episodes and is slated to debut in 2027.

Romero returns as journalist Nacho Nieto, a specialist in unexplained phenomena, and also serves as creator and co‑director. Filming has begun at several locations across Catalonia. The new season expands the show's scope with additional cases, conspiracies and paranormal events, opening with an abduction by mysterious lights. Nacho’s surroundings interpret the incident as a psychotic episode and encourage him to join the TV program “Nueva Era”.

The production continues its collaboration with El Terrat, with Alberto de Toro directing again and the script written by Romero, Rafel Barceló and Enric Pardo.
