Movistar Plus launches free football channel on Astra satellite

Movistar Plus has added a free-to-air football channel to its satellite service without prior notice. The channel, listed as Fut M Baloncesto 3 (also reported as Fut Mundial Baloncesto 3), appears on the Astra 1P satellite at 19.2° E, transponder 58, frequency 10847 MHz, and can be received with any DVB‑S satellite receiver.

The service began broadcasting on 10 June 2026, coinciding with the start of the 2026 World Cup. Although the name suggests basketball content, the channel currently airs football programming, including LaLiga EA Sports matches, classic UEFA and FIFA competition fixtures, past World Cup games, and documentaries produced by Movistar Plus. The channel’s future availability remains uncertain and may be tested or become permanent.

Viewers with satellite TV can access the channel without a subscription, using the standard three‑audio tracks provided.
