Movistar Plus+ launches two free cinema channels for summer

Spain's pay‑TV platform Movistar Plus+ will add two new free‑to‑air cinema channels this June. The channel "Vacaciones por M+" will take over channel 15, replacing the existing "Los 2000s" service, and will offer a mix of recent releases, classic films and family‑friendly series.

The second channel, "Orgullo por M+", will occupy channel 18, succeeding "Top Comedia Española". It is dedicated to LGBTQ+ themed movies, series, short films and specials, and will broadcast the Madrid Pride parade live. Both channels are timed to coincide with the summer season and the build‑up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which Movistar Plus+ plans to cover extensively.

The additions are presented as a way to broaden the platform’s free content slate ahead of the major sporting event and to reinforce its position in the Spanish television market.
