Movistar Venezuela named best mobile network by Ookla

Movistar Venezuela has been named the best mobile network in Venezuela for the first half of 2026 by Ookla. The telecommunications company received the recognition through the Speedtest Awards, achieving a score of 58.88 on the Speedtest Connectivity Score index.

Antonio Valente Izzi, CEO of Telefónica Movistar in Venezuela, stated that the award follows an investment plan to modernize infrastructure. Since December 2024, the company has modernized over 1,500 stations and executed more than 4,000 network actions.

Ookla determined the winner by analyzing over 28 million tests conducted between January and June 2026. The methodology evaluates network performance metrics, such as speed and latency, alongside Quality of Experience (QoE) indicators, including video playback quality and navigation on high-demand platforms like Google, Facebook, and YouTube.
