Mozambican Football Federation sues Quinito for defamation

The Mozambican Football Federation (FMF) has announced legal action against Joaquim de Sousa Todo Júnior, widely known as Quinito, for slander and defamation. The decision follows a social media video in which Quinito made allegations against FMF President Feizal Sidat, the Executive Board, and other staff members.

Quinito accused the federation of using “deceptive methods” regarding the club licensing process and engaging in activities harmful to Mozambican football. The FMF has categorically denied these claims, stating they are unfounded and come from an individual with no formal competence or intervention in these matters.

To clarify the licensing process, the FMF explained that it is managed independently by the First Instance Body (OPI) and the Appeals Body (OA). These entities operate in coordination with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and follow international regulations without interference from the FMF Executive Board. The federation is seeking both criminal accountability and compensation for moral and reputational damages.
