Mozambican officials demand transparency and rigor in new appointments

Prime Minister Benvinda Levi and Interior Minister Paulo Chachine have called for increased transparency, responsibility, and efficiency following the inauguration of several new public officials in Mozambique.

During a ceremony for the Academy of Aeronautical Sciences (ACA), Prime Minister Levi emphasized that public resources must serve the citizens exclusively. She highlighted the importance of civil aviation for territorial connectivity, tourism, and logistics, urging the new Director-General, Tuaha Ossifo Chabane Mote, to prioritize human capital and improved teaching conditions.

Separately, Interior Minister Paulo Chachine addressed newly appointed leaders within the Ministry of the Interior and the Republic of Mozambique Police (PRM). Chachine stressed the need for rigor in managing social services and increasing revenue to support health centers, police dining halls, and agricultural initiatives. He noted that social assistance must prioritize lower-ranking officers and the families of those killed in the line of duty.
