Mozambique expands energy infrastructure and training capacity

Mozambique is advancing its energy infrastructure through new training and transport initiatives. In Pemba, the Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH), in partnership with Concord Safety, has broken ground on the Marine & Safety Center. This facility is designed to provide international certification and specialized technical training for offshore and onshore oil and gas operations, including maritime safety, firefighting, and emergency response.

Simultaneously, the Companhia do Pipeline Moçambique-Zimbabwe (CPMZ) is expanding the Beira-Feruka pipeline. The project involves constructing two new pumping stations in Nhamatanda and Messica to increase annual fuel transport capacity from 3 million to 5 million cubic meters by the end of 2027. This 67% increase aims to secure the supply of diesel, gasoline, and aviation fuel for Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and landlocked neighbors such as Zambia, Malawi, Botswana, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
