Mozambique football team selects Lisbon for CAN 2027 preparation
The Mozambique national football team is preparing for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers. To prepare for their opening Group J match against Senegal in Dakar on September 25, the team has selected Lisbon, Portugal, as their training base.
The squad, led by coach Chiquinho Conde, is scheduled to arrive in Lisbon around September 19. The training camp will focus on defensive and offensive strategies, including ball possession and counter-attacking transitions. The full squad, including players from European and Asian leagues, is expected to be complete by September 22.
Following the training in Portugal, the team will travel to Dakar on September 23 for an adaptation session at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium. After the match against Senegal, the team will return to Lisbon for recovery training before heading back to Maputo on September 27 to prepare for their subsequent match against Sudan.
