Mozambique PM calls for FACIM commitments to become real investments

Mozambican Prime Minister Benvinda Levi has called on the private sector and investment promotion institutions to convert commitments made during the 51st Maputo International Trade Fair (FACIM) into tangible investments. Speaking at the event's conclusion, Levi emphasized that signed contracts must evolve into factories, processing units, agricultural ventures, and technological projects to drive industrialization and job creation.

Levi highlighted the importance of adding value to raw materials and strengthening agribusiness to reduce the nation's reliance on exporting unprocessed goods. She also identified micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises as the backbone of the Mozambican business structure.

The Prime Minister urged organizations such as the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA) and the Agency for Investment and Export Promotion (APIEX) to closely monitor the execution of agreements initiated during the fair. Additionally, she reiterated the government's commitment to improving the business environment by reducing bureaucracy, accelerating digitalization, and facilitating access to regional and international markets.
