Mozambique resumes phased public service promotions
The Mozambique Ministry of State Administration and Public Function (MAEFP) has announced a phased resumption of administrative acts regarding promotions, career progressions, and changes in the public service. These processes had been suspended since 2022 due to budgetary constraints and challenges related to the implementation of the Single Salary Scale (TSU).
Due to treasury restrictions, the government will implement a gradual plan based on priority and sustainability. The initial phase focuses on the immediate regularization of 7,067 employees whose 2021 processes have already been approved by the Administrative Court but were awaiting updates in the e-SNGRH system.
Additionally, priority will be given to state employees within salary levels 1 to 11, a group comprising approximately 287,322 public servants. Public institutions are required to ensure all data is correctly validated and registered in the e-SNGRH electronic system. Employees not included in this first phase will be addressed in subsequent stages as budget availability allows.
