Mozambique Tax Authority and ENI/CORAL Sul align customs procedures

The Mozambique Tax Authority (AT) and ENI/CORAL Sul FNLG have harmonized customs procedures for oil and gas operations in Area 4 of the Rovuma Basin. This alignment follows the implementation of Decree No. 27/2026, which updates general customs clearance rules and fee schedules.

During a meeting in Pemba, Cabo Delgado, AT President Aníbal Mbalango and ENI/CORAL Sul FNLG managers discussed ways to increase clarity, predictability, and efficiency in customs processing. As part of the new legal framework, ENI/CORAL Sul FNLG has been advised to formalize a Customs Facilitation Agreement with the AT to minimize operational constraints.

To support these technical operations, the AT will focus on the continuous training and updating of staff assisting the platform operations. Mbalango emphasized the importance of regular dialogue between the tax authority, ENI/CORAL Sul FNLG, and other operators in the Rovuma Basin to anticipate challenges and find joint solutions.
