Mozart's 270th anniversary marked by musical events in Italy
Various Italian musical institutions are organizing events to commemorate the 270th anniversary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birth.
In Trieste, the Teatro Verdi hosted the concluding concert of the Il Faro della Musica festival. The performance featured conductor Ton Koopman leading the Teatro Verdi Orchestra alongside pianist Francesco Piemontesi. The program focused on Mozartian works, specifically the Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major, K. 503.
In Fermo, the Conservatorio di Musica ‘G. B. Pergolesi’ has launched a cultural project titled ‘Diventare Mozart. Formazione, teatro e costruzione del genio musicale’. The initiative combines scientific research with artistic production, including a study day scheduled for September 29, 2026, and a performance of the early opera ‘Bastien und Bastienne’. The project aims to explore Mozart's formative years, his relationship with his father, and his musical development.
