Mozilla discontinued Lightbeam Firefox tracking tool

Mozilla has discontinued Lightbeam, a Firefox extension previously used to visually demonstrate how companies and services track users across the internet. Originally known as Collusion, the tool provided users with interactive charts that mapped the connections between visited websites and various advertising or analytical services.

The discontinuation of Lightbeam is attributed to changes in the Firefox extension architecture and the development of integrated privacy features. While the original extension is no longer available in the official Firefox store, its functional role is now partially handled by built-in features such as Enhanced Tracking Protection and privacy reports, which automatically block many known trackers.
