MP Marcin Józefaciuk to challenge TVP over school parent council segment

Polish MP Marcin Józefaciuk has announced plans to file formal complaints against the public broadcaster TVP following a segment on the morning program ‘Pytanie na śniadanie’. The broadcast, aired on September 12, discussed the election of parent councils in schools.

Józefaciuk criticized the program’s use of on-screen headlines, such as ‘School nightmare for parents’ and ‘You can become a treasurer inadvertently,’ accusing the editorial team of mocking parents and social engagement. He characterized the segment as a ‘festival of mockery’ designed to discourage parents from exercising their rights and cooperating with schools.

The MP intends to bring the matter to the TVP Program Council, the TVP Ethics Committee, and the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT). He is seeking an investigation into the program, an assessment of editorial responsibility, and a correction of information to provide a reliable account of parental rights.
