MPEC Nowy Sącz expands Elektrociepłownia Węgierska with heat pumps
MPEC Nowy Sącz has initiated the second stage of expansion for the Elektrociepłownia Węgierska heating plant located on Dobrzańskiego Street. The company signed a contract with Energy Solutions to construct a heat pump system with a total capacity of 600 kW.
The investment is valued at 3,368,970 PLN gross. Approximately 45% of the eligible costs will be covered by a non-repayable grant from the European Regional Development Fund, provided through the Marshal's Office of the Małopolska Voivodeship.
This expansion aims to support the southern part of Nowy Sącz, which has previously lacked access to the municipal heating network. The facility, which began operating its oil-gas boiler unit in late 2025, currently serves the Verde residential estate. The new heat pump system is part of a long-term plan to supply heat to 16 upcoming multi-family buildings with a total capacity of 2.7 MW and to extend services to additional consumers in the Węgierska Street area.
