MPLA targets 2027 election victory through Luanda mobilization
The MPLA party is projecting a significant victory in the 2027 general elections, focusing on grassroots mobilization and strengthening party structures across Angola. To support this goal, the party's Political Bureau Secretariat is conducting a series of working journeys in the Luanda province throughout late August 2026.
Vice-President Mara Quiosa has been visiting municipal committees in Viana and Kilamba to evaluate organizational levels and member commitment. A key priority identified is the updating of the unofficial electoral register, with officials calling for increased participation in BUAP centers. To address accessibility issues, the party is considering the use of mobile brigades.
In addition to Quiosa's visits, Secretary-General Paulo Pombolo is scheduled to conduct oversight in the Cazenga and Mussulo municipalities. These activities aim to assess the political, organizational, and functional status of municipal structures and ensure the progress of the party's organic processes.
