Mato Grosso authorities move health fraud probe to federal court

The Mato Grosso Court of Justice has transferred an investigation regarding the Empresa Cuiabana de Saúde Pública (ECSP) to the Federal Court. The inquiry, part of ‘Operação Oráculo’, examines suspected fraud involving over R$ 660,000. The decision follows arguments that the funds involved originated from the National Health Fund, establishing federal jurisdiction.

Separately, the Public Ministry of Mato Grosso has opened a civil inquiry into allegations of sexual harassment at the Escola Estadual Cívico-Militar André Avelino Ribeiro in Cuiabá. Reports suggest female students were targeted by military professionals, including incidents involving unauthorized entry into female bathrooms. While the State Secretariat of Education reported that no formal victims or specific authors were identified during an institutional visit, the investigation continues to address the reported misconduct and administrative irregularities.
