MPR and BPK leaders discuss state financial accountability

Leaders of the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) and the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) met in Jakarta to discuss strengthening the governance and accountability of state financial management. BPK Chairperson Isma Yatun emphasized that the agency's role extends beyond providing audit opinions to driving continuous improvements in transparency and effectiveness across ministries, agencies, and local governments.

During the MPR's 2026 Annual Session, MPR Chairperson Ahmad Muzani highlighted the importance of the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperative program. He stated that cooperatives align with the Indonesian constitution by promoting an economy based on mutual assistance rather than free competition that favors the strong over the weak. Muzani noted that healthy cooperatives can empower farmers, fishermen, and micro-businesses by improving market access and economic value distribution.
