MPSC aspirants protest in Pune over exam irregularities
Aspirants of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) have entered their seventh day of protests in Pune, demanding accountability for alleged examination irregularities, paper leaks, and recruitment delays. The protesters are calling for the resignation of MPSC Chairman Vivek Bhimanwar and seeking greater transparency and reforms in the commission’s processes.
Key points of contention include the alleged leak of the Drug Inspector recruitment examination and concerns regarding the evaluation of descriptive-answer papers for the 2025 State Services Main Examination. Additionally, several major exams, including the 2026 State Services Main Examination and the Maharashtra Civil Engineering Main Examination, have been postponed without revised schedules.
Following a meeting with protesting students on October 5, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray reported that he held detailed discussions with the Chief Minister regarding the students' demands. Thackeray described the discussions as positive and expressed hope that students would receive good news regarding their employment status soon, while urging them to remain patient.
