MPSC Drug Inspector exam paper leak: 11 people arrested
The Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested four additional individuals in connection with the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Drug Inspector exam question paper leak, bringing the total number of arrests to 11. The latest detainees include two candidates, Sajid Sande and Vijay Kingar, and two middlemen, Sandeep Khalate and Bhairavnath Kadam.
Investigations suggest that the accused illegally accessed and distributed question papers for the Group-B screening examination held earlier this year. The probe is examining allegations that official duties were misused to unlawfully access and exchange papers for financial gain. One candidate, Rituja Patil, was previously arrested; officials noted she allegedly received the leaked paper and was advised to answer certain questions incorrectly to avoid detection.
Following the discovery of the malpractice, the MPSC cancelled the recruitment process for the Drug Inspector posts under the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and announced plans for a fresh examination to ensure transparency and fairness.
