Mr Brightside prepares for Memsie Stakes with Flemington jump-out

The nine-year-old galloper Mr Brightside is scheduled for a 1000m jump-out at Flemington this Friday as part of his preparation for the Group 1 Memsie Stakes at Caulfield on August 29.

Prepared by Lindsay Park trainers Ben, Will, and J D Hayes, the gelding is returning to racing after missing an autumn campaign due to minor surgery to remove a bone chip. His last appearance was a fifth-place finish in the Group 1 Champions Mile at Flemington during the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Trainer J D Hayes noted that the horse pulled up well from a previous jump-out on August 3 and expects a tougher workout this Friday.

Also participating in Friday's jump-out is dual Cups winner Half Yours. Trained by Tony and Calvin McEvoy, Half Yours is preparing for the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes on September 12 in anticipation of defending his Melbourne Cup title in November.
