Mr. T criticizes Netflix documentary about his life as distorted

Actor and former professional wrestler Mr. T, born Laurence Tureaud, has publicly criticized the upcoming Netflix documentary ‘Untold Mr. T: I Pity the Fool’, scheduled for release on September 8. In interviews with The Guardian, the 74-year-old star described the production as “garbage,” alleging that the filmmakers misrepresented his life and attempted to distort his legacy.

Mr. T expressed frustration that the documentary focuses heavily on his aggressive public persona from roles in ‘The A-Team’ and ‘Rocky III’ while omitting significant aspects of his character, such as his religious faith, family values, and community work. He specifically noted that while his pastor was interviewed for two days, the final edit included only approximately 30 seconds of footage.

Furthermore, the actor disputed the documentary’s suggestion that his career decline was due to poor behavior or decisions. He maintained that his reduced Hollywood presence was a personal choice made after achieving his goal of providing for his family. He also criticized the inclusion of negative commentary from his former agent, Peter Jang, and noted he was not permitted to review the filmed material before the final version was completed.
