Mrągowo hospital investigation following patient death

An investigation is underway in Mrągowo, Poland, following the death of a patient who fell from a hospital window on September 20, 2026. The individual was transported to the Provincial Hospital in Olsztyn, where he passed away on September 22 due to a traumatic brain injury.

The Mrągowo District Prosecutor's Office is investigating the incident under articles of the Penal Code concerning the endangerment of a person to direct danger of loss of life or serious bodily harm, as well as causing death by negligence. Investigators have obtained autopsy results and are currently questioning hospital staff.
