Mária Gurzó detained in Hungarian subsidy fraud investigation

Mária Gurzó, the wife of television presenter Ádám Fásy, has been ordered to be detained for one month by a court in Kecskemét. The legal action follows her recent arrest in connection with a criminal investigation involving the misuse of National Cultural Fund (NKA) subsidies.

Authorities are investigating allegations of budgetary fraud committed within a criminal organization, specifically involving significant financial losses. The case involves a company commissioned to produce the documentary film ‘Kéz, szív, lélek – magyar kortárs művészek nyomában’. It is alleged that the company owner commissioned services worth over 56 million HUF from companies linked to Ádám Fásy’s daughter, Zsófia Fásy, and his wife, Gurzó.
