Mérida announces university excellence scholarships

Mérida Mayor Cecilia Patrón Laviada has announced the opening of the University Excellence Scholarship for the 2026-2027 academic cycle. The program is designed to support students attending both public and private higher education institutions within the municipality of Mérida.

Eligible applicants must reside in Mérida, maintain a grade point average above 9.0 from the previous term, and have a maximum monthly family income of 160 minimum wages. Students must be regular attendees starting from their second year of study and cannot be in their final year of university. The scholarship provides a financial support of 2,000 pesos every two months.

Registration will take place online from September 24 at 9:00 a.m. until September 25 at 6:00 p.m. via the official municipal website.
