Mérida expands Va y Ven transit system with new Tixcuytún route

The Yucatán Transport Agency (ATY) has announced that the Va y Ven public transit system will launch a new route, Route 811, on Monday, October 12. This expansion aims to improve connectivity for residents of the Tixcuytún sub-commission, linking them to various sectors of Mérida.

The route will travel from downtown Mérida through Cholul, connecting to key locations such as La Plancha Park, La Mejorada, the UADY Faculty of Architecture, Universidad Modelo, Plaza Uptown, Plaza Altabrisa, and Plaza Fiesta before reaching Tixcuytún.

Fares for the new route will follow the established Va y Ven pricing structure: a general fare of 12 pesos, a social fare of 5 pesos for students and senior citizens, and free travel for persons with disabilities. The service will utilize modern, accessible units and support electronic payments via official transit cards.
