Mérida hosts 64th National Philatelic Exhibition

The 64th National Philatelic Exhibition (EXFILNA 2026) opened on September 24 in Mérida, Spain. Organized by Correos and the Spanish Federation of Philatelic Societies (FESOFI), the event runs through September 27.

To mark the occasion, Correos introduced two new philatelic issues tied to the historical heritage of Mérida. These include a souvenir sheet from the ‘64 EXFILNA 2026’ series featuring the Temple of Diana, and a stamp from the ‘Numismatics’ series dedicated to the Roman coin ‘As Augusta Emerita’. The Temple of Diana, dating back to approximately 1 AD, is one of the city's most prominent Roman monuments.

The exhibition features various activities, including philatelic displays, conferences, workshops, and educational proposals. Scheduled events also include demonstrations of historical mail delivery methods, such as via pigeon, horseback, and bicycle.
